But he would withdraw to desolate places and pray.
Luke 5:16
Scripture tells us that Jesus would "withdraw to desolate places and pray" (Luke 5:16, ESV). Jesus did this to connect with The Father, recharge, and refocus on His mission. As followers of Christ, we too need time to reconnect with God, recharge so we are effective in our calling, and refocus on the mission God has set before us. The purpose of the Encounter Retreat is just that: to facilitate a place where men and women can encounter God through retreat.
